The rent deposit is a deposit which is to be paid after the contract has been signed with the landlord to secure the lease. Only after the deposit has been paid will the rental space be given to the tenant.
The amount of the rent deposit is 3 months gross rents in general and is usually stored as a bank guarantee. In some cases the rent deposit can be paid as a cash deposit to the landlord.
At the conclusion of the lease, the deposit is released to the tenant by the landlord. This is conditional upon the contractual return of the office space by the tenant and all billing all utility costs being settled.
